WEEKLY UPDATES

7/2/24
The contractor is planning to be onsite Wednesday to place the final layer of pavement on both Manor Road and Dyer Lane. They will begin first thing in the morning on the westerly end of Manor Road. Similar to last time, once the asphalt is placed and rolled it can be driven over, which is roughly 20-30 minutes after initial placement. With that in mind, the surface will be tender until it has had time to fully cool and set; please avoid turning your vehicle sharply over the newly placed material as best you can for the first few days. The remaining work on the project will follow next week as soon as weather permits and will include any remaining fine grading of the boulevards, landscaping replacement, placement of seed/sod, and roadway striping.

6/21/24
With the wet weather over the last couple of weeks, the contractor has been delayed in finishing up the boulevard grading and landscaping repairs. Mailboxes were installed earlier this week and if the weather improves, they are planning to be back next week for the remaining grading and landscaping. At this point, the earliest the contractor would be able to pave the final layer of asphalt is the week of July 1st, weather permitting.

6/7/24
The contractor made good progress this week with the paving of driveways and the start of boulevard restorations. Look for the contractor to continue with boulevard/landscaping restorations and raising of manhole castings next week. Those of you with more significant landscaping impacts, our inspector may contact you to find a time to walk-through and discuss how you may want things put back. Looking further ahead, the contractor is scheduling the final wear course of pavement and striping for the week of 6/18, which will basically complete the major work on the project.

5/31/24
With the couple of nice days this week, the contractor was able to get the first layer of pavement down throughout the project area. Next week, the contractor will begin shoulder/slope restorations, restorations of landscaping areas, and preparation for paving of driveways. If the weather holds out and we do not have too many rain days, the contractor is planning to pave driveways by the end of the week. Looking further ahead into the week of 6/10, the contractor is planning to raise up the manhole covers and pave the final layer of pavement, weather permitting. Soon thereafter, the contractor will finish up any remaining landscaping restorations, perform final cleanup, and then paint the centerline striping.

5/17/24
With the nice weather over the last couple of weeks, the project continued to stay on schedule with curb installation on Monday along with other ancillary work the rest of this week. Ramping of any driveways is ongoing today and the affected residents will be able to return to their driveways by end of day. The contractor plans to continue fine grading the roadway and reclaim material in preparation for paving of the first layer of asphalt as early as Wednesday 5/22, weather permitting. If there is excess reclaim, there will be some hauling off of material. After the Memorial holiday, the contractor will work on boulevard restorations and prepare for final wear course paving which will likely occur by that first week of June.

As mentioned in previous correspondence, the City expects that the contractor will limit the time in which the road is closed, but impacts to access could occur during roadway paving next week. During those times, thru-traffic will be routed around the north side of the project area along Cottagewood Road. The contractor will work with residents along Manor/Dyer to allow access to their driveways during that day of paving, as needed.

5/6/24
The street project made good progress this past week with mobilization to the site, erosion/sediment control installation, and full depth pavement reclamation of the entire project area. Beginning first thing Monday (5/6/24) the contractor plans to replace the culvert west of Dyer Lane and the rest of the week continue with subgrade preparation and grading/compaction of the new reclaim material. Next week (week of 5/13) the contractor plans to install the curb and gutter and tolerance the reclaim surface. Weather permitting, the contractor is planning to begin paving as early as the week of May 20th.

As a reminder, the contractor can replace your entire driveway in addition to the work being done with the street project. If you are interested, please call Jesse Eystad at 612-368-4448 if you would like a quote to perform this additional work. Time is of the essence as the contractor is planning to begin paving as early as the week of May 20th, weather permitting.

4/29/24
The contractor is planning to mobilize first thing next week (week of 4/29) and will begin by setting up traffic control signage, erosion control, and perform various removals. This will be followed by pavement removals/reclamation and the culvert replacement later in the week, weather permitting. According to the schedule provided by the contractor, the duration of active construction will last roughly five weeks with a substantial completion date of June 28th.

The City expects that the contractor will limit the time in which the road is closed and the most significant impacts to access will occur during the pavement removal/reclamation process, replacement of a culvert crossing Manor Road, and roadway paving. During those times, thru-traffic will be routed around the north side of the project area along Cottagewood Road. Residents within the project area will still have access to their driveways for the duration of the project, although with some inconvenience at times.
